Deliberation less toxic than Facebook comments

Deliberation less toxic than Facebook comments

Facebook was the main channel for promoting the online deliberation project. We collected all comments from Facebook, Your Priorities and many comments from the Deliberative Poll. We compared the level of toxicity of comments. 3.82% of Facebook comments were toxic or very toxic with Your Priorities at 0.58% and Deliberative Poll at 0.62%. We used Google Translate and Google PerspectiveAPI for the toxicity analysis.
