Participatory Economics (ParEcon)

Participatory Economics (ParEcon)

ParEcon is an economic system based on participatory decision-making as the primary economic mechanism for allocation in society (rather than a free-market mechanism). In the system, the say in decision-making is proportional to the impact on a person or group of people. Because allocation is based largely on need, Parecon can be used alongside the steady-state economic model to ensure our economy moves away from the continuous growth model. Parecon is also compatible with Participatory Budgeting and Participatory Democracy.
