Funding research, infrastructure projects and medical improvements are better options than the yearly Eurovision song contest.

I agree that Malta should stop taking part in the Eurovision (EV) because as long as the result is decided (partially/ fully) by televoting - Malta will always suffer an unjust placing. But then again the EV is a TV show and scrapping the televote would be like suicide for the show. BUT I disagree that the EV funds are spent as suggested in this idea but rather they should be spent to promote local singers on the European/I'national stage or at least they be spent to promote artists in general.
