When we did the promise of sale on our house, the notary informed me that he is not held responsible for any mistakes made in the researches he did on the house. In order for him to be accountable he told me that I have to pay him an extra €300. For obvious reasons I did not pay him and he is not held accountable for any mistakes there might be in the future. Notary should be held accountable for his work. Apparently this law was changed a way back
