sea transport across harbour

Commuting from Cottonera across Grand Harbour should be facilitated by linking the boat ferry directly with the land public transport. The ferry ticket must be equivalent or the same ticket is used for buses with no extra expense. This means that a TM card is allowed to be cancelled on the boat when departing Bormla as if it was cancelled on a bus. On arrival a bus is waiting near the ferry taking passengers directly to the bus terminus for continuation of journey with the same ticket.

Points

We need a seamless public transport where with the same ticket a commuter will be able to make use of all the various modes available.

A similar system is operated in many other cities. It is an incentive for public transport use and minimise private transport. Direct linking with land transport is imperative as short measure solution.
