Presidential election and presidential powers

Presidential election and presidential powers

The president will be elected directly by the people (he cannot be an existing member of a political party or served in a political party for a period of at least three years) and his primary role is to defend the constitution and the sovereignty of the people and will have the right to trigger a referendum on any law not included in an electoral manifesto or when citizens garner enough petitions to either legislate a new law or abrogate an existing one.

Points

The president will be responsible for appointing the boards of important national bodies including Chief justice, Attorney General, Auditor General, Police Commissioner, Electoral Commissioner, Head of civil Service, Broadcasting Authority Board, MEPA Board, Public Service commission, Employment commission. – this will ensure greater impartiality and defend national institutions from being hijacked by political parties

i agree with this if it is taken with the idea COUNCIL OF STATE.
