In light of the recent findings (the increase by more than a third in 2016 of overdoses treated), a reform in Drug Policy is essential. What our country must aim to do is educating the public about this issue and giving aid to those in need, rather than incarcerating them. Portugal took this approach and now have the one of the smallest rate of deaths caused by overdoses.
