Recognition to qualified librarians in the education sector - inclusion in collective agreements reached with MUT - enable them to work on an equal footing with educators for the benefit of learners - they are precluded from applying for courses organised by the Dept of Educ because a teaching warrant is required - put their skills to good use, eg developing an information literacy programme for schools, teaching research skills, involvement in school improvement programs, etc.
