Like in Switzerland non-working immigrants who are on social benefits do community works to compensate for the social benefits they are receiving. For example if one recieves €400 (÷€5) = 80hrs of community work, which can be of benefit in various sectors like 1) security in central places, 2) cleaning up of beaches, streets etc, 3) first aide interventions, 4) security and upkeeping of their living areas especially nights, 5) upkeeping of green areas and various other things.
I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YEARS AND THIS CAN ALSO BE EXTENDED TO PRISONERS, UNEMPLOYED MALTESE CITIZENS AND THOSE IN RESPITE HOMES THAT ARE LIVING ON SOCIAL BENEFITS. THEY CAN BE GIVEN A SHORT COURSE ON SECURITY WORK OR LOCAL WARDENS OR EMPLOYED AS CLEANERS IN GOVT DEPT SCHOOLS HOSPITALS AND OLD PEOPLE'S HOMES RUN BY THE GOVERNMENT. APART FROM SAVING MONEY ON OUR TAXES THIS MOTIVATES THE PEOPLE ON SOCIAL BENEFITS AS THEY WILL BE GIVEN SELF ESTEEM AND A REASON TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNING.
